CHRISSY WARREN, FOUNDER
Christabel “Chrissy” Warren is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Bama Connect.
A proud Wuthathi woman with Papua New Guinean heritage, Chrissy was born in Lae (PNG) and came to Australia at age 11, learning English as her second language.
Her life experience—especially as a mother to her late son Ryan, who lived with cerebral palsy—shaped her commitment to disability services and culturally safe community work.
Since 2012, Chrissy has worked across Far North Queensland with a strong focus on disadvantaged and Indigenous communities. Her background includes:
Disability & Community Services
Various roles with a job network provider for people with disability and as a Local Area Coordinator in the Yarrabah Aboriginal community.
On-Country Leadership
Supervising CDEP staff, mentoring participants and coordinating community programs throughout Cape York.
Cultural Enterprise
Former owner-operator of an Aboriginal cultural tourism business.
Chrissy holds qualifications in Human Services, Community Coordination, Business and Frontline Management, and is progressing a Diploma of Community Service Coordination.
She’s known for calm mediation, tailored communication and an unwavering commitment to genuine, locally led outcomes.
Her reconnection to Wuthathi Country at Shelburne Bay continues to guide her purpose: helping people reclaim identity, rebuild connection and realise their potential.
